I bought a new 2005 classic Roadstar, I installed a set of Cobra two in a pipe and a K & N filter?

The bike starts, runs and idles good with one exception. On the first start of the day, I start choking and allow the starter to I get out of the highway (about 2 to 3 minutes. I accellerate up from 65 to 70. After about 30 to 45 sec. The engine starts to run out and basically runs on a CLY. This last for 30 to 40 seconds and then everything smooth. He will do with the choke on or off. After bike sets 7-8 hours at work, this problem does not happen, only after he seats during the night. I talked to a mechanical shop local and he said I was running to lean. I showed him a biuld black soot in the exhaust pipe and it looked like it was burning rich. He insisted it was on fire so I bought a thin kit Cobra Rejection and installed it. Just out of curiosity I shank drill used to check the size of the main stream of actions. He was larger than the largest jet in the kit cobra. My problem is now soot disappeared, but the problem first start is exactly the same. Any help appreciated.

Did you remove the stock air box and use ClampOn? If so, try reinstalling the air box. If it does not work, reinstall the stock air filter.
