Tpi Reciprocating
Monday, June 13th, 2011How to cut 2 "out of a heating duct aluminum old?
I have an old house where the owner left the heating duct coming out of the wall by two inches. It looks like aluminum. I do not want to use shears or hand tools to cut it. I a reciprocating saw - the blade class [TPI] is the right to cut this ... and do I have oil on the metal surface before cutting? Thank you.
Its probably not galvanized aluminum, and what is beyond, is a flange to be folded against the wall, and screwed, then put it on the register. Tin snips is the best tool, a Ricip seen it bounce and work half a ----. but you have to bend the plate back and screw on the wall, trim so that the register is place on it.
